Profiles and your bio

Your public page, your bio, your picture and the public keys you can list.

Every member has a public profile at /u/yourname. Open Profile in the member menu to edit it.

Display name and bio

Your display name can be up to 60 characters. The bio supports simple formatting written in Markdown:

  • **bold** for bold and *italic* for italic
  • [link text](https://example.com) for links
  • lists that start with a dash or a number
  • code between backticks

Raw HTML is removed, and links that are not safe are refused. Links in a bio are marked so that search engines do not follow them.

Profile picture

Upload a JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP or AVIF image under 5 MB. It is cropped to a square and resized. Press Remove picture to go back to your initials. Pictures go through the same upload checks as photos, and the same network rules apply.

Public keys

You can add public SSH keys to your profile. They are copied to the Git server if you have Git hosting, so you can push over SSH. Never paste a private key. See the guide on Git hosting.

Pings

Your Profile page also shows your pings, which are short public updates, and has a post box for new ones. See the guide on pings and the Relay.

What is public

Your username, display name, bio, picture, pings, public photos and public keys can be seen by anyone. Your email address and your plan details are not shown.

Stats

The Profile page shows when you joined, how many files and photos you have, how much storage you use and how many invites you have left.
