Storage packs

A storage pack adds a fixed amount of space on top of what your plan already gives you. Packs are a monthly subscription, billed by Stripe like the other plans. Open Billing and look for the Storage section.

What you see

The Storage section shows how much space you use, how much you have in total, how much of that comes from your plan and how much from packs. Below that are the packs you hold and the packs you can buy. A pack that does not show a price is not for sale yet, and the page says so. A pack can only be bought once an administrator has approved its price.

Buying and changing

Pick how many packs you want and press Buy. You are taken to Stripe to pay. Packs of the same size are bought once and then counted: to have two of them, change the number on the pack you hold. Raising the number is charged to your card straight away, prorated for the rest of the period, and the extra space appears once that payment goes through. You can only raise it while the pack's payments are up to date. Lowering the number is credited by Stripe on your next invoice. To cancel, use Manage packs, invoices and cancel, which opens Stripe's billing page. A cancelled pack keeps working until the period you paid for ends.

If you use two-factor authentication, buying or changing a pack asks you to confirm a recent code first.

Prices

Packs are priced from what storage really costs us plus a markup. The price can change from time to time. A price change only applies to people who buy after it. If you already hold a pack, you keep paying the price you started with.

Who can buy

Any member with a confirmed email address can buy a pack. Packs do not change which plan you need to use a feature. File hosting still needs a Pro account, so a free or Basic account that buys a pack gets the space on paper but still cannot host files. The Billing page tells you when that applies to you.

Organizations

An organization has one shared allowance. Packs bought for it add to that shared space for everyone in it. Only the organization owner can buy or change them, from the organization's console, on the same card as its plan.

If a pack ends

If you cancel a pack, or Stripe cannot collect the payment after its retries, the extra space goes away when the paid period ends. While a card payment is being retried your extra space stays available, and we email you.

If you are then using more than your allowance:

• You cannot upload more, including photos. You can still download and delete anything.
• You see a notice on every page and we email you once.
• You have 30 days to remove files or buy a pack again. After that you stay unable to upload until you are back under your allowance or buy a pack again.
• Nothing is ever deleted automatically.

If you are under your allowance when a pack ends, nothing changes for you.
